"I call this image Pondering to open the viewer's imagination, so as not to to influence the viewer's perception.
 
The painting is based on a photograph taken many years ago, one that had continued to intrigue me over time. I experimented with printing the image on different kinds of paper and then first adding emphasis to the image with pastels. Then I found the courage to begin doing the same process with paint, I never inteded to make the painting look exactly like the photograph. Instead, I enjoyed the freedom of re-imagining it in various ways: brush stroke, color intensity, thickness of paint, etc.  What I love it that the image is now even more mysterious, and that it seems to beckon the viewer. I am pleased to be able now to present this work as a limited edition print."
